Users of the CuliQuiz application can request permanent deletion of their account and the associated personal data. The CuliQuiz application consists of the mobile application for iOS and Android and the player web application.
Website and application
This account deletion page is on the public CuliQuiz marketing website. The website and the CuliQuiz application are separate technical environments.
- A deletion request via this page applies to your CuliQuiz application account and the personal data associated with that account.
- The public website may use website cookies, analytics and marketing technologies in line with your cookie choices and the privacy policy. These website technologies are not part of the CuliQuiz application.
- Deleting the mobile app, clearing website cookies or withdrawing cookie consent does not in itself delete your CuliQuiz application account.
- The CuliQuiz application contains no advertising and does not use advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking.
Deleting your account in the app
The quickest way to start deletion is in the CuliQuiz app:
- Open your Profile.
- Choose Settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Read the information and confirm your request.
Requesting deletion via the website
Can't access the app? Fill in the form on this page with the email address linked to your CuliQuiz account.
After submitting, we may send you an email to verify that you are the account holder. Never send us your password. Once the request has been verified, deletion is scheduled and normally completed within 30 days. You can cancel the request before final completion, via the instructions in the verification email or by contacting support.
Deleting the CuliQuiz app from your device does not automatically delete your account.
What is deleted or anonymised?
When the verified request has been completed, we irreversibly delete or anonymise the personal data associated with the application account, including, where applicable:
- the CuliQuiz account and direct account identifiers;
- name, display name and email address;
- profile information, language and preferences;
- links to organisation, team and membership;
- personal learning progress and gameplay history;
- personal scores, XP, streaks, badges and leaderboard links;
- campaign participation linked to your identity;
- guest or session data linked to the account; and
- other information directly linked to the account.
What may be retained?
Anonymous or aggregated game, campaign and platform statistics may be retained where that information can no longer reasonably be linked to you. If an anonymous score needs to remain to keep a completed leaderboard intact, it may be shown as “Deleted player”, without an account or direct identification.
We may retain limited information where this is required by law or necessary for security, fraud prevention or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Retained information remains protected and is only used for those purposes.
Personal data is removed from active systems as part of the deletion process. Encrypted backup copies may continue to exist until they are overwritten in the normal backup rotation, normally within 90 days. Backup data is isolated and only used for security and disaster recovery.
Website cookies and privacy requests
You can change cookie choices for the website via the cookie settings on the public website and via your browser settings. This is separate from deleting a CuliQuiz application account.

Confirmation
We confirm receipt of your request and let you know when the deletion has been completed. If we cannot verify the account or need additional information, we will contact you via the email address you provided.
